WANT MORE AUTOPOSTING OOMPH?
Since you're starting out, I implore you to ONLY go for FREE accounts on autoresponder platforms. When the time comes and you're ready to increase your marketing tactics, you can always upgrade your account through individual platforms that served you best.
Tailwind is a lot like HootSuite, except it works with Pinterest and Instagram ONLY. You can use the free account in tandem with HootSuite to get 60 free posts per month!
If This, Then That connects various social media accounts to one another so that when you share it on Facebook (for example) it also goes to Twitter.
Buffer allows for up to 10 scheduled posts across three different social media accounts, with one primary user.
Social Oomph allows you to connect one social media account (I suggest it be your most prominent account) and schedule UNLIMITED posts!!!
Later allows you to setup automated posts for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Use this in tandem with HootSuite to get even more FREE pre-scheduled posting. [NOTE: You only get 30 posts a month here, so I suggest you use them early on to establish your monthly social media account aesthetic as they provide an easy to use preview option of future posts.]
What happens when you burn a candle at both ends?
First off, you can't, but also, if you could, you'd be getting wax all over the place!
And that's essentially what I've learned about burn out after ten years of building a thriving freelance entrepreneur career: if you try to burn more than is acceptable, you're gonna have a bad time. And a mess. A messy bad time.
Which is why I implore you to find as many ways as possible to streamline your business so that you can use your time for stuff that really matters instead of tedious stuff that just keeps the ball rolling.
And as soon as your business is thriving and growing, OUTSOURCE ANY TASKS THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DO!
Cake Queen is here to teach you how to create the business out of thin air and run it on your own, but once you've reached success kindly offset that work to someone else who wants it so you can focus ALL of your efforts on the work you love.
CHECK OUT TWO OF MY FAVORITE, TIME-TESTED ROUTINES:
My Social Media Routine
1. ONCE A MONTH: Fill up HootSuite & Tailwind with 30 #truthbomb posts each to Instagram and Facebook.
2. ONCE A WEEK: Refresh my HootSuite & Tailwind accounts so they never run dry.
3. ONCE A WEEK: Explore online articles and snag any reasonable ones with BUFFER's browser extension.
4. ONCE A WEEK: Use SOCIAL OOMPH to fill out ONLY my Facebook page even further.
5. TWICE A DAY (noon and 5 PM): Check in on social media and organically play around.
My Morning Mojo Routine
1. WAKE AT 6 AM after going to bed at 10 PM.
2. DOWN A LITER OF LEMON OR LIME WATER while reading or writing creatively.
3. WRITE FOR ONE HOUR, typically whatever fiction work is inspiring me.
4. 8 AM = CONTENT CREATION TIME: blog post writing, freebie downloads, products, etc.
5. TURN ON POMODORO time tracker (every 30 minutes I take a 5 minute break for stretching or dance).
6. NOON = "WORK CHORES" (replying to emails, etc.) since I've had a healthy dose of the fun stuff by now.
BECAUSE ENTREPRENEURSHIP IS SELF-REGULATION AT ITS PUREST
There will be no boss besides you. There will be no motivator besides you. And there will be no one, other than you, to step up and get the work done.
I've been in your shoes and I took far too many years to see my own entrepreneur visions come to life. Why? Because I wasn't being disciplined. Period. Period on your clothes. Period on your hands. Period all over the bathroom floor, PERIOD.
I want you to be so successful that you can go as far as your dreams will take you, ! But that won't happen if you aren't disciplined.
Trust me. Period.
Comfortability beats ambition in the game of online business...
Is your schedule manageable?
Are you accounting for sleep and other necessities?
What about Mind, Body, and Soul work?
If your schedule looks overwhelming, it probably is. By all means, walk that path, learn from my mistakes! Then come back and adjust your schedule to better fit your existing lifestyle.
Rewarding good behavior is not just for house pets...
Treat yourself to awesome delights when you reach even your minor goals!
Some of my treats?
A hike to Boca de Tomatlan,
Homemade chocolate dipped strawberries,
Hammock time and a good book,
Beach day outing,
A full day of ONLY fiction writing,
Buying that red nail polish I've been eyeing!
KNOW YOUR LIMITS
Some things cannot be changed right now and that's ok! Maybe you have children who follow a strict schedule. Maybe you've got a job you can't shake. Maybe you've got schooling obligations.
Whatever the case, take note of the things that cannot change so you can find creative ways to work around those chunks of time (or work within them).
Burnout and No-Show: The banes of entrepreneurial existence...
I'm an overworker, personally. And knowing that makes it so I catch myself when I reach base camp of my personal Burnout Peak.
Knowing my tendency for overwork also makes it so I need special tactics to counteract that desire to keep going. I tip the scales by forcing myself to: 1) take ample breaks for "fun time" work, like fiction writing or content creation, and 2) use a POMODORO time tracker to pull my brain away from work every half hour on the dot.
