IF YOUR PASSION ISN'T FAKE, THEN YOUR MARKETING SHOULDN'T BE EITHER
I know the feeling: going to post on social media about your brand and feeling like it makes you come off like a sleazy seller.
And that should be a sign that you're coming from a space of selling, rather than serving, a space that isn't very CAKE QUEEN at all.
We don't push an offer because we don't need to. Instead, we provide offers from a space of passionate interest, a space that is happy to serve and equally happy not to serve if no one is interested. We create online businesses that light up their own lives regardless of how anyone else feels, and we reap the benefits of success simply because we're aligned with our ultimate, most positive self.
If you're providing an offer that you believe in, a service or product that you know is worth it, then you won't have the icky feeling of inauthentic spewing because you won't be spewing, you'll be informing your audience of how you can alleviate their pain in a real, heartfelt way.
If you find that your style of marketing feels inauthentic, even though your passion for your brand is very real, then rephrase your copywriting - and speak it aloud to yourself to affirm how it makes YOU feel - so that it is full of more conversational helpfulness, rather than sales-pitched bullet points.

GO BASIC & EASE INTO IT
If you aren't sure where to begin to develop a marketing strategy, utilize my tips below to tailor something simple and manageable to your brand style:
PASSIVE & ACTIVE ONLINE CONTENT ONLY
Ignore offline marketing content for now. If your business is not dependent on local word of mouth or physical marketing tactics, external marketing materials shouldn't be necessary.
Even if your business operates primarily in the real world instead of through online transaction, you can benefit from acquiring clientele by offering informational, downloadable freebie content that helps establish your credibility and worth.
SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
These days, there's no avoiding it: YOU MUST GET SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS. These accounts are how people analyze your brand before choosing to work with it.
These are pieces of content that, once created, can remain on your website indefinitely as credible proof of your brand value. Don't ignore these!

Short on ideas for your marketing content? Ask yourself:
What can you create that will inform your audience of something important?
Can you teach them something they want to learn without spoiling the value of your offers?
What matters most to you about your brand that you want to share with your audience when they first land on your website?

The more you know before you go, the better off you'll lead...
More likely than not, your business concept isn't something brand new and unheard of that needs a unique formula to succeed. It's not like you're creating Facebook before there was such a thing as "social media," you feel me? There's no need to reinvent any wheels, nor any need to figure this all out on your own without acknowledging the hard work of those who've come before you.
More importantly, learning from what already exists can help you build something even better than what already exists. Were you not to research your own industry, you run the risk of potentially creating the lesser version of something that already exists.
DAILY ACTION = SUCCESS
Marketing can be as simple as sending a few emails a day, posting a few Instagram photos a week, or making sure you talk about your business to anyone and everyone who seems ideal for it.
Whatever you choose to do, choose the things you don't mind doing everyday! If taking one picture a day for Instagram is your deal, commit to it!
WHAT EXCITES YOU TO PARTICIPATE?
Marketing is an everyday activity, so whatever you've decided sounds good for you needs to be something you look forward to doing everyday.
IF YOU HAD TO GET "REAL LIFE" WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Would you mention your brand to people in the grocery store? Would you hand out business cards to everyone you meet?
IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE ONE, WHICH ONE, WHICH ONE!?
Let's say you only have time to address one of your social media accounts in a day. You may have three accounts, but somethings come up and now you only have time to hit up one today...which one?!
WHO INSPIRES YOU?
Have you found an influencer on Instagram whose pictures you just adore? What about a Facebook account to a recipe blog that offers really specific, really helpful posts? What can you learn from their style?
